Prepare the Apples
- Core the apples and slice them crosswise into approximately ½-inch-thick rings.
- Pat the apple rings dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This helps the peanut butter and chocolate stick to the apples.
Melt the Chocolate
- Add the dark chocolate and 1 tablespoon of coconut butter to a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely melted and smooth. Add additional coconut butter as needed for a smooth, dippable consistency.
Assemble the Apple Dunkers
- Spread a layer of creamy peanut butter over one side of each apple ring.
- Dip the peanut butter side of each apple ring into the melted dark chocolate. Spoon or drizzle additional chocolate over the top if desired.
- Place the apple dunkers onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate and lightly sprinkle with sea salt.
Chill
- Place in the freezer for 3–5 minutes, or just until the chocolate has set.
- Serve immediately while the apples are cold, crisp, and crunchy.
