One-Pan Creamy Chicken Ramen

Creamy, cheesy ramen, juicy seasoned chicken, and a rich sauce all made in one pan. This One-Pan Creamy Chicken Ramen is the kind of easy dinner you make once and immediately add to the rotation.

The chicken gets seasoned with smoked paprika, garlic, Italian seasoning, and fresh lemon before being seared until golden. Then, instead of cleaning the pan, we're cooking the ramen right in all those flavorful browned bits. Add chicken broth, heavy cream, cheese seasoning, and mozzarella and you've got ridiculously creamy ramen with very little cleanup.

And when you're feeding four hungry boys, that's exactly the kind of dinner I like. 😂

Why You'll Love This One-Pan Creamy Chicken Ramen

  • One pan: The chicken, noodles, and creamy sauce are all cooked in the same skillet.
  • Big flavor: We're building the sauce right on top of all those browned bits left from the chicken.
  • Extra creamy: Heavy cream, cheese seasoning, and mozzarella turn instant ramen into serious comfort food.
  • Easy weeknight dinner: The ingredients are simple and the cooking goes fast.
  • Family-friendly: Creamy noodles and juicy chicken are always an easy sell around here.
  • Easy to customize: Add more chicken, cheese, or broth depending on how you like it.

The Secret to Really Good Creamy Ramen

The biggest trick is not overcooking the noodles.

Once the chicken is done, add the ramen and chicken broth directly to the same skillet. Let the noodles simmer for only 1–2 minutes, just long enough to loosen them.

Then add the heavy cream, cheese seasoning, garlic powder, and mozzarella.

The ramen will continue cooking while the sauce comes together, so starting with slightly underdone noodles keeps them from getting too soft.

And whatever you do, don't clean that skillet after cooking the chicken.

Those browned bits on the bottom are packed with flavor and become part of the creamy sauce.

Ingredient Notes

Chicken

I use one large chicken breast and halve and butterfly it so it cooks quickly and evenly. If your family wants more protein, use two chicken breasts.

The combination of smoked paprika, sweet paprika, Italian seasoning, garlic, onion powder, lemon, salt, and pepper gives the chicken plenty of flavor without overpowering the cheesy ramen.

Cheesy Ramen

I use Otoki Stir-Fry Cheesy Ramen for this recipe. You'll need three packs of noodles, but start with only one of the included cheese seasoning packets.

You can always add more cheese seasoning at the end if you want a stronger cheesy flavor or thicker sauce.

Heavy Cream

Heavy cream is what gives the ramen that rich, silky texture. Keep a little extra nearby because it's also an easy way to loosen the sauce if it gets too thick.

Mozzarella

You don't need to measure this perfectly. About a handful is plenty to start.

Add more gradually if you want the ramen thicker and cheesier.

Dad's Notes

Don't clean the skillet. I know I've said it already, but this is important. All those browned bits left from searing the chicken add flavor to the ramen.

Use a splatter screen. It helps keep the mess down while you're searing the chicken without trapping steam.

Add the cheese gradually. You can always add more mozzarella or cheese powder, but it's harder to fix ramen that gets too thick.

Taste before adding salt. Chicken broth and ramen seasoning can already contain quite a bit of salt.

Don't fully cook the ramen in the broth. Keep it slightly underdone before adding the cream and cheese.

Eat it while it's hot. This sauce gets thicker as it sits. If that happens, just stir in a splash of broth or heavy cream.

What to Serve With Creamy Chicken Ramen

Honestly, this is one of those dinners that doesn't really need anything else. You've already got juicy chicken, creamy noodles, and plenty of flavor in one skillet.

If I'm making it for the whole family, I'll usually just put the pan in the middle of the table and let everyone dig in.

You could also pair it with a simple cucumber salad, steamed vegetables, or roasted broccoli if you want something fresh on the side.

Can I Add More Chicken?

Absolutely.

The recipe uses one large chicken breast, which works well for 3–4 servings when sliced and served over the ramen.

For a higher-protein dinner or bigger appetites, use two chicken breasts. You shouldn't need to make major changes to the rest of the recipe.

How Do I Keep Creamy Ramen From Getting Too Thick?

Keep some extra chicken broth and heavy cream nearby.

The noodles continue absorbing liquid after they're cooked, so the ramen will naturally thicken as it sits.

If your sauce becomes thicker than you'd like, stir in a small splash of broth or heavy cream until it's creamy again.

That's also why I recommend serving this one right away.

Can I Make This Ramen Less Cheesy?

Yes. Start with the one cheese seasoning packet called for in the recipe and adjust from there.

The mozzarella also controls some of the thickness and cheesiness, so you can use a little less if you prefer a lighter sauce.

How Do I Store Leftover Creamy Chicken Ramen?

Store leftover chicken ramen in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Because ramen noodles continue soaking up sauce as they sit, the leftovers will be considerably thicker than when they're freshly made.

How Do I Reheat Creamy Ramen?

Add the ramen to a skillet over low heat with a splash of chicken broth or heavy cream.

Gently stir as it heats until the sauce loosens and becomes creamy again.

You can also microwave individual portions, adding a splash of liquid before reheating and stirring partway through.

  1. Hi Ben, I’m certainly interested in trying this recipe however, I’m in Australia and it doesn’t appear that we can buy Otoki Stir-Fry Cheesy Ramen noodles. Any suggestions on an alternative product please? Many thanks, Bec.

    1. Hi Bec! Absolutely! You can substitute the Otoki Stir-Fry Cheesy Ramen with another cheesy or creamy instant ramen available in Australia. Even a regular instant ramen will work, then just add a little extra shredded cheese to get that creamy, cheesy flavor. Hope you enjoy it! 😊
